It may look like just a strip pavement with bleachers sun-soaked in memories but for more than 20 years, it's the last stand of a vintage sport, drag racing.
"It's just the love of the sport I think, the noise, the feeling and remembering Detroit Dragway for all the years it was here," Drag Racing nostalgia promoter Steven Timoszyk said.
This weekend, at the 8th annual Detroit Dragway reunion, hundreds of cars, of all shapes and speeds will bring the roar of the past to life once again.
The Milan Dragway opens its doors Saturday and Sunday at 8 A.M. with racing getting underway at 10 A.M. each day.
