Oakland basketball head coach Greg Kampe is no stranger to reaching out to others.
Throughout the year he's always invested in charitable efforts, but this weekend is right in his wheel house.
Oakland basketball hosted 66 high school teams from Michigan and Ohio for a weekend long tournament and pitted some of the best teams against each other.
"We just had the state champion from one class play the state champion from another, for Oakland it's a great thing because we get 800 kids on our campus for a weekend," Oakland head coach Greg Kampe added.
It may be a sports cliche, but come tournament time in March, experiences at these types of camps can go a long way in helping to decide what team is left standing, and for the Clarkston Wolves, they'll understand that defending their first ever state title is a different feeling than chasing one.
"We have a bigger bulls-eye on our back, we deserve that and have to continue to work hard," Clarkston head coach Dan Fife said.
