John Beilein opened the door to welcome me into Michigan's film room on Monday.
He let me bring in my camera, but no popcorn.
Beilein spent time showing off the space his Wolverines spend hours each week, digesting reviews on tape and planning for their next game.
When I suggested the comfortable seats and dimly-lit room set up the perfect setting for popcorn and Frozen Cokes, Beilein laughed.
"I let them bring in snacks," U-M's head coach said. "There will be no Frozen Cokes in here."
Beilein said he was pleased with his team's resolve on Sunday, battling back from multiple deficits at Maryland.
"Last year, we had really close games with Michigan State and Wisconsin. Both of those teams went to the Final Four. Maryland is another Final Four team," he said.
"There we are on the road, fighting them tooth and nail. But it doesn't mean anything until we put together W's."
Beilein wouldn't commit to calling his team an NCAA Tournament team.
"We're solidly in the middle of the Big Ten. We're trying to get to the upper end. We'll see."
Three games are left in the regular season: Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Iowa. A lot will be determined in the next week and a half.
