FARMINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Playing soccer or football at indoor facilities is certainly a popular activity...but a new phenomenon has people flocking to the field.

"Two words we get, fun, awesome, love hitting everybody else. The other word we get is exhausting," Total Sports Director of Marketing David Wieme said.

You've likely seen the ads on the Internet or TV, but Knockerball is now in the metro area, and it is some of the most fun you can have on two feet.

"It felt a lot different than I thought it would feel but once you get used to it, you can really get into it and it's just awesome," first time player Cesar Nowicki said.

The difference with Knockerball is a 20-pound inflatable ball that you're securely strapped inside to make games like soccer a little bit different. You play Knockerball with a twist, you get hit.

"I think I prefer this because you just get to settle grudges and just knock people over if you don't like them that much," Frank Gase said.

"I didn't know if it was going to hurt that much but it didn't and that just made it better because you got to go for it, put all your effort into it and smash them."

"The first time we got these Knockerballs in we out all the staff in them and we got a good feeling for how staff members actually feel about management," Wieme added.

"It's fun, exhausting, a great workout but also its different, it's something different and that's what people are looking for."
