Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy doesn't mince words talking about team's defense against Nets

Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy didn't mince words talking about his team's poor defense in their loss to the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday.

"Before practice, we watched all 71 first-half points that we gave up, and tried to learn from it," said Van Gundy. "It wasn't a yell and scream and it wasn't trying to beat people up. It was literally to show what happens when you put that little into the game."

Van Gundy went on to say that he believes the team would agree an assortment of media members could have scored 45 of those 71 points on the Pistons defense.

In the second half of Wednesday's loss, the Pistons defense allowed just 38 points. Van Gundy mainly attributed this to two things: Jeremy Lin not playing and the fact that his team "tried". "That usually is a pretty good adjustment," said Van Gundy with a healthy dose of sarcasm.

The Pistons practiced Friday morning, and will host the Denver Nuggets Saturday at 7pm.
