DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Some of the biggest names in skateboarding return to Detroit this weekend for Red Bull Hart Lines.
The three-day event, which transforms Hart Plaza into a skateboarding course, is the brainchild of pro skater Ryan Sheckler.
"For me, it's kind of like seeing a dream come true," Sheckler told Justin Rose during a break in practice. "I've always had an idea for a contest series that I wanted to do."
The event is free and open to the public. Qualifying runs take place Saturday, with the finals set for 2 p.m. Sunday.
