Two teams from the Detroit Red Wings have cracked the Top 10 Greatest NHL Teams, the league announced.
Earlier this week, the 2001-02 Detroit Red Wings were named the 10th best NHL team in the league history. The 1997-98 team was unveiled as the sixth best NHL team.
The 2001-02 team had nine future hall of famers on the team, a hall of fame coach, and probably a 10th hall of famer if and when Pavel Datsyuk gets inducted.
Those hall of fame players are: Steve Yzerman, Chris Chelios, Brett Hull, Luc Robitaille, Igor Larionov, Dominic Hasek, Brendan Shanahan, Nick Lidstrom, Sergei Fedorov and coach Scotty Bowman.
"After losing the first two games to Vancouver, the Red Wings won 16 of their next 21 games en route to their third Cup win under head coach Scotty Bowman," NHL.com wrote.
It was the team's third Stanley Cup in seven years after they went back-to-back in 1996-97 and 1997-98.
The 1997-98 team was swept the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup Finals, completing the back-to-back Stanley Cup run.
