The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, is known as the best hockey player to ever play the game, but he didn't always want to be a hockey player.
On The Dan Patrick Show, Gretzky talked about how he always wanted to be a baseball player, but his dad always kept "clipping me over the head, saying 'you're a hockey player, you know?'"
Gretzky said when he was 14 or 15, he knew he wasn't going to be a professional baseball player, so he better focus on hockey. But, he said he would've chosen baseball over hockey any day of the week.
The team he would've wanted to play for: The Detroit Tigers.
"I would've loved to have been the shortstop for the Detroit Tigers," Gretzky told Dan Patrick. "I grew up such a big Tiger fan, Ernie Harwell, and listening to Tigers games," he said.
He also discussed remembering Mark "The Bird" Fidyrch pitch, and being so excited thinking he was "so unique, and so good," while having a style, grace and elegance about him.
In response, the Tigers said they had a No. 99 jersey ready for him.
