Remember the Robert Palmer song "Some Like It Hot"? The lyrics "Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on" will apply big time this weekend.

The heat starts on Sunday with high temperatures around 90. It will last at least three days, which will make it our first official heat wave of the year.

This may seem early to you, but here are some interesting facts: we average 2 days with highs of 90 or higher each June. Every single day in June has a record high of 90 or higher and 4 days have record highs of 100 or higher.

The longest heat wave in SE Michigan, with 90 degree highs or higher, lasted 11 days at the end of August and beginning of September in 1953.

100 degrees or higher temps have occurred 34 times in Detroit.

Had enough? Here is something that may help ease your anxiety just a bit.

We are expected to average right around normal for temperatures this summer. That means with this hot start there are bound to be some cooler days ahead.

In the meantime, save some extra cash for your next electric bill. Here comes the AC!
