Deputies in Macomb County have released new video of a hit and run that injured a 15-year-old girl.

Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured. But, that hit and run driver remains on the run.

In the newly released surveillance video you can see the shadow of a young girl riding her bike across the road at the bottom of the screen.

Seconds later a driver strikes the 15-year-old at the intersection of Metropolitan Parkway and Crocker.

A witness driving the other way frantically jumped out of her car to help, as the hit and run driver took off.

Thankfully the victim escaped with just minor bruises and scrapes and is now safe at home.

The crash, just before 8 am, is now being vigorously investigated by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. They're on the lookout for the black sedan seen in the video and urging the public to offer any possible assistance.

In the meantime for other cyclists, it remains a stark reminder of the dangers out there  - including a heartless driver unwilling to stop.

The video has also been circulated on Facebook. Deputies are confident they will be able to make an arrest.
