Detroit 2020 honors Forgotten Harvest

Posted

Forgotten Harvest is dedicated to relieving hunger in metro Detroit and preventing nutritious food waste. It’s also one of three Channel  7 Detroit 2020 winners for 2015.

Located in Oak Park, Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 and hasn’t looked back since. Today, more than 280 needy agencies in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties benefit from their daily collection of 800 food donors.

Because of their dedication to being one of the most effective and best managed non-profits in Michigan, WXYZ/WMYD Vice President & General Manager Mike Murri presented Forgotten Harvest with $7,000 from the Scripps Howard Foundation and congratulated  Chief Executive Officer Kirk Mayes on being one of this year’s Detroit 2020 recipients.

Forgotten Harvest truly lives up to the Detroit 2020 motto: Unify, Inspire & Act!
