"Paws for Reading" at Rogers Elementary!

The school was packed with kids, adults and dogs on a Wednesday night at Rogers Elementary in Berkley!  The popular neighborhood school was celebrating National Reading Month and I was lucky enough to be invited to read to one of the captive audiences in their media center.  Also in attendance and reading to the students at Rogers was Berkley Schools Superintendent Dennis McDavid.

What I loved most was watching the children read to man's best friend.  There were dogs of every breed throughout the school sitting patiently as kids read them their favorite books.  I think it's safe to say everyone had a great time.  I know I did!  What a wonderful way to encourage our next generation of leaders to embrace the wonderful world of reading.  Kudos to principal Beth Meacham for leading the charge at Rogers Elementary.
