TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run crash on May 24.

The crash killed 48-year-old J.V. Binkley of Ann Arbor in Troy.

Anthony Rene Griffin, 41, of Detroit was arraigned on Friday, June 28 on charges of Felony Murder and Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death.

Jerry Burton, 37, was arraigned on a charge of Felony Murder, Police say Burton was Griffin's accomplice and the passenger in the vehicle.

Police say they believe that the suspects were preparing to steal from Binkley's truck when he was struck and killed. After hitting Binkley, the suspects fled the scene, police say.

Binkley was a vending machine supplier and was driving a delivery truck on the day of the incident. He was at the location of the incident making a delivery.

His family says that he was a loving father of two and a husband whose life was tragically cut short.

"It doesn’t even seem real at this point that he’s gone," said Isabella Binkley, JV Binkley's daughter.
