Inside his Southwest Detroit warehouse, U.S. candidate for Senate John James, a Republican, is opening up about his own unique experiences and differences between himself and opponent Debbie Stabenow.

“We’re basically like an automotive Amazon,” says James.

His family company, Renaissance Global Logistics is where he serves as CEO. He plans to utilize his skill set yet again if elected to public office.

James has a background as a former chopper pilot serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

“I learned very early on that we have to listen and learn before we lead. This is not about me, but about service before self,” says James.

He says he’s planning to focus on national security, education and working on both sides of the aisle. He also criticizes opponent Senator Debbie Stabenow and says he’ll do what’s right no matter what.

“I can agree with the President without worshipping him. I can disagree without attacking him,” says James.

He vows to fight for veterans issues, and that the includes on health care issues.

“Making sure our veterans are being served by the best talent, and they get the best care anywhere,” says James. He adds, “We must make sure we have a market-based patient-centered approach, and we take care of pre-existing conditions.”

John James says if he wins the election, the family business will stay open, but it will be run by another relative.
