Cedar Point opens for 2017 season on Saturday

Cedar Point officially opens to the public for the 2017 on Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m. The amusement park has been closed since October for the winter.

Featuring dozens of attractions including 17 roller coasters, 18 thrill rides, 19 family rides and 15 kid rides, the park is a staple for those in Michigan looking for a day of fun in the summer.

There are special opening weekend ticket prices for just $45 online at

Plus, a brand-new waterpark is expected to open on May 27 featuring more than a dozen attractions.

This year, the park added another level of security with metal detectors getting into the park.
