One million meals, that's the donation goal for a new Gleaners and Suburban Collection initiative to help 'drive away hunger.'
According to the campaign, every dollar donated will "purchase three meals for our neighbors in Southeast Michigan, with at least one of those three meals going to a child in need."
The virtual food drive allows donors the ability to select the food they would like to donate. They can simply add to their shopping cart, ordering quantities of a variety of items from pinto beans, to chicken, to milk. Donors also have the ability to skip the feature and just directly give to the campaign.
