(WXYZ) — Michigan reported two new coronavirus deaths and 204 new cases on Wednesday, the second time in three days the state reported two new deaths.
In all, there are now 60,393 cases confirmed in the state and 5,792 deaths
This is the fourth time in less than a week that the increase in deaths has been in the single-digits. Eight were reported on June 12, three on June 14 and two on June 15.
According to the state, there are 9,400 active cases of the virus, one of the lowest number since the start of April.
On Wednesday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the next steps for schools to reopen in the fall, and said schools may resume in-person learning as part of phase 4 of the MI Safe Start Plan.
She also said the state would likely move into phase 5 before the Fourth of July.
