Wayne County Sheriff's Commander Donafay Collins dies of COVID-19

(WXYZ) — The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says a member of the command staff has died of the coronavirus.

Commander Donafay Collins died on Wednesday at the age of 63. He was a member of the Sheriff's Office for almost 30 years.

Collins leaves behind a wife and 4 children.

Collins had also worked as a DJ on 92.3 FM, retiring from that job in March 2019.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says they have 18 employees who have tested positive for COVID-19.
