Today, the Oakland County Sheriffs Office hosted a fallen heroes tribute to honor members of law enforcement and firefighters from Michigan who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Their names were read on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and loved ones also spoke about supporting one another. Members of law enforcement agencies around the state took part in today’s ceremony at 1 pm.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard originally founded the memorial which lists names off those who were killed in the line of duty statewide. Action News investigative reporter Simon Shaykhet served as the emcee for the historic ceremony.
