WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — A vehicle rollover crash that claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl on Saturday in Warren has her family pleading for justice and asking for help with funeral expenses.
“She was my only daughter and her smile was everything to me. How do I go on from this? You can’t replace a daughter.” said Bryon Giannini, the girl's father.
Giannini says 10-year-old Giana was the happiest and most inspiring part of his life. She died suddenly after the crash, and we’ve learned she and her mother were driving to the nearest Tim Hortons at the time to get her favorite sandwich.
“She loved so many people and this is the most painful experience.” said Angela Ljuljdjuraj, Giana's aunt.
The crash, which happened at 10 Mile and Ryan, also left Giana's mother with minor injuries. It is still being investigated by police.
Loved ones say they want to see the driver of a dump truck hauling a loader held accountable for allegedly speeding and not properly securing the truck. Police say the prosecutor could be issuing an update on possible charges as early as Monday morning.
The family is also asking for help with funeral expenses. You can donate to their GoFundMe by clicking here.
