Highland Park in need of fire engine replacement

Posted

The Fire Chief in Highland Park is issuing a plea for help. His city has only one, aging fire engine. "It's more than 20 years old with 60,000 hours of pumping water," says Chief Kevin Coney.

Coney tells Action News that financial struggles have left the city with limited resources to fight fires.

"We are doing everything we can to make things work" says Coney. In addition, the truck may not last much longer leaving citizens with increased concerns.

We took action and reached out to some local communities to try and get some help.

The chief says a donated fire engine in good condition, would definitely make a tremendous difference, for the people of Highland Park.
