The State of the State was watched closely tonight by the people of Flint, who are forced to live through that dangerous water crisis.
One of those families from Flint says they aren’t buying the Governor's apologies tonight, nor his promise of transparency.
Governor Rick Snyder focused on Flint's water crisis, but his State of the State address fell short for Tisha Houston and her 10-year-old son Kayden.
Snyder is now promising to release all emails detailing what went wrong, leading to a state of emergency.
But, through a parent's eyes, the people of flint were let down for 2 years in a manner that's criminal. The stakes so high, the new flint mayor had to meet with the president today.
Snyder's apologies and pledges to hold people accountable for health hazards that sickened kids were to be expected says Tisha, but bottom line the governor's own appointed EN saved money by exposing kids to harmful lead water.
As far as solutions, millions more in funding will help, along with new faucets for schools, but long term, the cost of replacing flint's broken infrastructure is unknown - just like the medical problems kids could see down the road.
Tisha says she's also looking forward to the findings of investigations by the State Attorney General and Department of Justice.
