2016 FFA honors Men of Courage

Preparation for the 18th annual Ford Freedom Awards is well underway.  The high profile event that honors famous African Americans will be held on May 17th at Orchestra Hall and the Max M. Fisher Theater.  The major fundraiser for the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History boasts this year of a national and diverse line-up of honorees that include:

Ford Freedom Awards:

Reginald F. Lewis (FFA Honoree, posthumously) – Lawyer, Businessman, Author & Philanthropist 

Dave Bing (FFA Scholar) - NBA Hall of Famer, Businessman, former Detroit Mayor, Mentor

 

Ford Courage Awards:

Kerlin Blaise - Businessman - Former Detroit Lion
Jonathan Butler - University of Missouri Graduate Student, Activist
Shaka Senghor - Author and college lecturer
 

Performances by:
GRAMMY-Nominated Artist Angie Stone
