DETROIT (WXYZ) — "They all ran outside screaming for help," said a woman who did not want to be identified but tried to help a neighbor's seven-year-old daughter after someone opened fire on the family's house on Bedford near Bremer on Detroit's east side.
The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday as the girl was sitting on a couch in her home.
Detroit police said someone in a dark colored sedan circled the area before driving up and firing shots into the house.
A bullet struck the girl in the back of the head. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she remains.
Detroit police are asking anyone in the area who has surveillance cameras on their home or business to look for possible images of the shooter or the vehicle.
