Katie Lynn Elliott, 37, was Bratton's live-in girlfriend, according to police.

Around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, dispatch received a call that a dead body was in the backyard of a home in the 19100 block of Woodside St.

When officers arrived they found Elliott's body with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say the defendant allegedly had an argument with the victim, when it escalated and ended in gunfire.

Bratton was arraigned and remanded to jail Tuesday afternoon. He's due back in court on Sept. 30.
