ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a stabbing assault at a hotel in Royal Oak Township Saturday.
On July 4 around 6 a.m., troopers responded to the Baymont Inn in the Charter Township of Royal Oak for a stabbing.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 49-year-old male victim and suspect got into a fight on the third floor hallway.
The victim was stabbed multiple times, according to MSP. Both victim and suspect left prior to trooper arrival.
The 49-year-old man was found on the Detroit side of 8 Mile at a gas station. He is in serious condition at a local hospital, MSP says.
Troopers are continuing the investigation.
