LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) — Educators from across the state are expected to gather again in Lansing to rally for school funding.
Teachers and members of AFT Michigan will gather outside the Lansing State Capitol building late Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Action Network website, the first rally on June 18 drew more than 2,000 people.
Organizers told 7 Action News they are expecting a smaller turnout than the last rally.
Earlier this month, they headed to Lansing to show support for Governor Gretchen Whitmer's plan to fund schools.
The Michigan Education Association is in favor of Whitmer's plan to implement a "weighted" K-12 funding formula, which factors in higher costs for certain students.
