Animal rights activists have filed a complaint against a Detroit man accused of taking a kangaroo on stage Friday night at Joe Louis Arena.
Jovan Stacks, the owner of the kangaroo, said the animal is part of his exotic zoo business. The kangaroo made national headlines after a Snapchat video showed the animal on the streets of Detroit.
Stacks told 7 Action News his animals are state and federally licensed, and they often give presentations to children for entertainment and educational purposes.
But animal activist Pam Sordyl said she is appalled by video showing Stacks using the kangaroo for entertainment. She has since filed complaints with Detroit Animal Control and the USDA, she said.
Stacks declined an interview with 7 Action News.
