DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Fire Department closed roads around the Marathon Refinery in southwest Detroit for several hours Thursday because of an oil vapor leak. The all clear has since been given.
According to the city of Detroit, they were notified around 1:38 p.m. of the leak.
Michigan State Police and Melvindale police shut down the roads, and photos showed third party workers at the refinery outside waiting. Marathon said their own workers were not evacuated.
The city and the fire department say there was no danger to the public.
