The WXYZ Editorials don’t stop and neither do the Community Comments. Our opinion on the Detroit Public School educators charged with bribery prompted this reaction from a DPS retiree.
“I hope all of those involved in this latest DPS (scandal) are brought to justice, tried and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And they should never be allowed to teach or hold an administrative position in the education of children ever!”
- Thomas Wilson, Jr.
Armen Aguilar wrote:
“These scammers are Kwame Kilpatrick cronies. They are all over the city.”
But Ronald Britt said:
“We must move forward with funding for the Detroit School system. The way to break the economic hardship of Detroit is by continued support of their education programs and investment in the rebuilding of their schools. It’s the education of Detroit’s children that will help them move back to (being) a thriving city. Don’t let a few bad seeds stop us from supporting Detroit’s future leaders.”
Most viewers liked our Editorial on Pure Michigan’s Detroit ad campaign. But it generated this response from Berger Mark:
“What kind of Kool-Aid are you drinking? The neighborhoods are horrible. And my dad’s pension took a huge hit. The list goes on. “
And our Editorial supporting Mayor Duggan’s summer jobs program drew this reply from one viewer.
“That editorial was ok about the 1 square mile of Detroit that is reviving. The problem is you need to get through the 138 square miles of war zone to get there. Why is your Channel so far left?”
- Mike Yaremchuk
And finally, this question from Erek Walter
“After all of the decades of disinvestment, why now focus only (on) the young?”
Strong and candid feedback from Channel 7 viewers! Thanks for writing and watching.
