WXYZ DETROIT — On Sunday, August 2, Spotlight on the News will interview Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II and Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Michigan's Chief Medical Executive and Chief Deputy Director of Health for the MI. Department of Health & Human Services. Tune in as they discuss their efforts to fight COVID-19, educate Michigan students safely, balance the state's budget, fight crime and prepare for the August 4th Michigan Primary.

Spotlight on the News, now in its 55th season, is Michigan's longest-running weekly news and public affairs television program. It airs every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 in Detroit, is streamed live on wxyz.com and broadcast at11:30 a.m. on 23.1 WKAR-HD in East Lansing.
