The Michigan State Police will celebrate its 100th birthday Wednesday, April 19 at the State Capitol in Lansing.
Governor Rick Snyder is also declaring April 19 MSP Day in Michigan.
A private special ceremony will be held from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. with legislators and dignitaries in attendance to honor the MSP for 100 years of service.
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the public will be invited into the Ground Floor Rotunda to experience interactive displays from the Michigan State Police, and offer well wishes.
Displays include:
*How to join the MSP
*Forensic Science
*Family and pet preparedness
*Safety topics
*Specialty teams including Marine Services Team Canine Unit, Emergency Support Team and Bomb Squad
