ROSEVILLE (WXYZ) — This was terrifying. Police say a 10-month-old puppy is dead and three people hurt following a vicious attack by two dogs in Roseville. It happened on Monday just before 6:30 p.m., when animal control officers say a 45-year-old woman was walking her 10-month-old Beagle named “Bella” near Frazho Road and Kathy Street.
“She’s walking on Frazho and they come from the south side, and approach and start attacking her and her dog,” says Chief Animal Control Officer Jeff Randazzo. He says Bella died from her injuries. Two citizens who also stepped in to help were attacked. One used a wrench to wound one of the two loose dogs.
“We just have descriptions of bully type dogs. We don’t know if they’re pits. One black with a white chest. Other is smaller and brown, reddish color,” says Randazzo. All three people hurt are expected to be OK after being treated for their wounds.
Randazzo says “I think the dogs are from the area and we’ve called multiple vets. No one has treated these dogs that we know of, we don't even know if they’ve received medical care for their injuries.”
On Oct. 8, the Roseville Criminal Investigation Division said it possibly identified and is working with the owner of the dogs responsible for the attack.
The owner is cooperating with detectives, and the Macomb County Animal Control office is assisting with the investigation, according to officials.
