Surveillance video shot by a loyal Detroiter helped police catch a suspected burglar who vandalized a home and spilled ashes.
In this case, the victim is a woman who just moved to Brightmoor, to be part of the city's comeback.
"I'm from San Francisco and have only been here since August," says Louella Pizzuti.
The home she was renting on Beaverland was robbed twice and severely vandalized.
Just as it seemed all hope was lost, the community got involved. Among them, Jonathan Pommerville AKA the "Video Vigilante."
Jonathan recognized someone riding her stolen bike and shot video with his own camera.
Cops quickly made an arrest and the bike was recovered.
Louella says she's staying in Detroit thanks to all the support she got.
The "Video Vigilante" says he's not the only neighbor looking out. He and others will continue to keep folks safe.
