Detroit Public Schools are about to get another major investment from the Detroit Pistons

It’s the latest step in the pistons’ efforts to improve the lives of Detroit Public School students.

Tomorrow they’ll reveal all the details of an exciting partnership with the Detroit non-profit City Year AmeriCorps.

The owners of the Pistons & Palace Sports Entertainment are going to provide funding to deliver extra tutors and help in the classroom for Detroit’s Osborn High School.

This is proven to help improve graduation rates. They will also deliver extra counselors and mentoring.

This is the third announcement in a series of community initiatives and partnerships, which will last for several years.

It comes after a $300,000 philanthropic donation to create a new youth basketball league and the Pistons have also stepped up to improve athletic facilities.

Pistons players are also serving as ambassadors in the schools.

The formal announcement is scheduled tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Osborn high.
