A manhunt is underway in Detroit after police say suspects opened fire on officers late Wednesday night.

We're told the officers were on patrol around 10:30 p.m. looking for stolen vehicles. They were parked on the street sitting in their cruiser when out of nowhere, another car pulled up behind them.

Police were dodging bullets and firing back, and at this point, it's unclear how many people were shooting.

We know that there were at least two people in a beige or brown four-door vehicle that pulled up and then started firing.

At some point, one of those people took off on foot while the others drove off.

Michigan State Police helicopters and K-9 teams are tracking the suspects.

Luckily, no officers were injured.
