DETROIT (WXYZ) — "Someone set the house on fire. I know that for a fact," said Gilbert, a friend of one of the victims, who also said that he saw someone running from his dear friend's home around midnight when it went up in flames.
"I looked over there and Greedy's house is on fire."
Ron Davies, 49, who was affectionately known as Greedy, was one of three men found dead by firefighters early Thursday morning on Helen Street near Seven Mile on Detroit's east side.
Two of the three men were sitting on a couch in the front room. A third man was sitting on a chair. And, according to a source, at least two of the men had been shot.
Two people were taken in for questioning, but Detroit Police have not identified any suspects in the case.
Minnie Mitchell said Ron was a good neighbor and she often saw him outside working on motorcycles. Minnie recalled a time when she asked Ron if he could help her with a plumbing problem.
"He came over and fixed it," she said.
A close friend, who visited Ron just days ago, said Ron had been an honorary member of the Highwaymen Motorcycle Club for over 20 years.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Detroit Police homicide investigators at 313-596-2260.
"Senseless," said Minnie. "Three lives."
