We're taking action to help a Detroit bus driver stabbed on the job. He turned to 7 Action News, after losing his benefits.
For William Wilson, the last few years have been devastating - haunted by a vicious attack and a broken system.
Wilson can still recall the sheer terror, a passenger with a knife repeatedly stabbing him during a bus ride back in may of 2010.
Some of the scars have healed over the years, but William is still not able to drive for DDOT.
Two months ago, it got even worse.
William turned to 7 Action News and asked us to contact the city on his behalf.
He’s not looking for a handout. The victim of a brutal attack now just wants a job. He says he has now received the call he hopes will help him back on his feet.
We're going to talk to the city soon, to see how exactly they plan to help William.
We're hearing they're promising to help him find a new position.
