A special grand opening weekend celebration is shifting into high gear for Live Cycle Delight, the 2015 winner of the Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest. It's a dream come true for business owner and Detroit native Amina Daniels who is passionate about spreading health and fitness in Detroit.
"I’m a former athlete so fitness has always been something that’s been a passion of mine," says Daniels.
"While living in New York City, I fell in love with cycling as a complete source of exercise and eco-friendly transportation," says Daniels. "After moving back to Detroit, I knew I wanted to create an inclusive, minority owned business that also advanced the city's boutique fitness offerings, and soon Live Cycle Delight was born."
She beat out 170 other applicants to win a $50,000 grant from the Comerica Hatch Detroit Program, thanks to community members who voted for her business plan to win.
"I still see people come up to me that say I voted for you, I’m rooting for you, I can’t wait to come spin with you," says Daniels.
It began with a love for cycling but her West Village studio is much more than that.
"The three pillars are train, sweat and restore," says Daniels.
She offers TRX strength training classes and meditative yoga as well. There's even a fitness class specifically for kids.
You can sample it all on opening weekend, Live Cycle Delight is located at 8019 Agnes St., Detroit.
All classes are free on opening day, Friday March 31st. Classes are half off on Saturday and Sunday April 1st and 2nd. You can purchase class packages for 30% off on the studio website using promo code: LCDGrand
Other specials will be offered throughout the weekend.
