DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit Police say they have detained several people for questioning in the murder of Jahill Acuff, a 36-year-old mechanic who was murdered in his Grayton home in late January.
Some of Acuff's relatives believe an acquaintance set him up to be robbed.
"I mentioned to him, on several occasions, the jewelry he was wearing," said Frank Blythe, Jahill's father. "And I let him know that one of his friends may do something to him."
On the morning of January 24, 2019, Acuff was found shot to death in his home.
A week later, Detroit Police released surveillance video of two women they wanted the public's help in identifying.
Then on February 6, Detroit Police released additional surveillance video of two men they were also seeking to talk to in the case.
Acuff's family says he was very generous to his friends and fear that may have made him a target.
