Macomb County Animal Control has rescued 14 snakes that were being severely neglected from a home in Washington Twp. Their owners were allegedly selling them illegally and depriving them of food and water.
The investigators followed up on a recent anonymous tip to make the discovery. However, they also found one snake that was already deceased.
Criminal charges could be filed soon. The snakes will be relocated to a long term care facility once they've been able to make a full recovery.
