A suburban community filled with families is on alert after a coyote was caught on camera running thru a neighborhood.
A woman who lives in the Sterling Heights neighborhood took out her cell phone and got picture of the coyote just after noon near 15 Mile and Dodge Park.
Police say they are urging people to keep all trash in covered containers.
They also say don't leave any type of bird feed outside.
Above all, do not leave children or small pets unattended anyplace near a coyote sighting.
There are roughly 30 parks in Sterling Heights, so it’s not unusual to see coyotes - but do take steps to be safe.
