The driver of a gravel hauler that slammed into a Clarkston dental office has been charged with reckless driving.

Prosecutors say Robert Eckola was behind the wheel April 20, when he lost control shortly before 1:20 p.m. on Main Street near Waldon Road.

Eckola was given a $2,000 personal bond with the condition that he not be allowed to drive until he is evaluated by both a medical doctor and an eye doctor.

The 52-year-old has no criminal history. He is due back in court for a May 17 pretrial hearing.

Eckola faces up to 93 days in the Oakland County Jail if he is convicted.
