New video of a deadly hit-and-run shows a driver speeding away from the scene, after taking a man's life.

It happened on University Drive near Melrose at about 11:50 pm Saturday in Pontiac. The 29-year-old victim has been identified, but his name has not yet been released by detectives.

Witness Brenda Matthews says it was a horrible scene, playing out right near her home.

"I was getting ready for bed and heard a big bang. There was a guy laying on the ground and they were trying to give him CPR," says Matthews.

Witnesses say first responders did everything they could to save the man's life, but they were not successful.

On video, the hit-and-run driver was seen leaving the area in a silver or tan colored Chevy pickup truck with an extended cab.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Office right away.
