Neighbors in a metro Detroit suburb are creating home made speed limit signs to crack down on illegal speeding.

On Deering Street in Livonia tempers are flaring as drivers speed up and down the neighborhood.

Rick Martin has taken it upon himself to make about 20 of the custom 25 mph speed limit signs.

Rick says it wasn't tough convincing everyone on the block to rock his signage in light of the speed demons.

Turns out Livonia police are aware of the problem and have stepped up patrols, but neighbors still blame a lack of yield or stop signs for the problems.

Neighbors say the trouble between 6 and 7 Mile roads dates back a couple years.

So far the signs are making a difference.
