A vacant, abandoned house on Detroit’s east side stood as painful reminder of the Martin family’s tragedy. It was the house were their loved one was discovered, dead.
A’quale Martin went missing in October, 2010. For 25 days, family searched for the 19-year-old, then he was found.
An illegal scrapper found the teen’s badly decomposed body inside a trash littered vacant house on Fleming Street. Since then, his family has prayed for his killer to be caught and for the abandoned house to be torn down.
Recently they shared their story with 7 Action News. Hours later, the vacant house was torched.
