STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 14-year-old girl has been arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot up schools in Sterling Heights.

Police say the suspect is a resident of Sterling Heights and a student of Davis Junior High School. The threat to Davis Junior High School was posted on social media, but police say they never considered it a valid threat at any time.
This is the second arrest in relation to school threats in Sterling Heights. A 13-year-old from Hamtramck was also arrested.
Police say they are continuing to investigate the case.
"Within 48 hours of the initial complaint of the school threats, we are proud to have arrested two suspects that were directly responsible for these crimes," Sterling Heights police said. "Furthermore, we have an outstanding working relationship with our school districts, and continue to strive to make our schools the safest learning environment in the State."
