Shopper shot during attempted robbery in Fairlane mall's food court

DEARBORN (WXYZ) — Dearborn police are searching for the person who tried to rob a man at Fairlane Town Center. The victim ended up with a gunshot wound in the arm.

It happened around 5:40 p.m. Monday in the food court as the victim was leaving the mall.

Police were quick to arrive and an officer spotted a possible suspect vehicle, a red Dodge Charger, speeding away from the mall.

The officer pursued the vehicle, but he eventually terminated the chase because of heavy traffic.

Dearborn police have not released a description of the would-be robber or said what he was after.
