Spirit of Detroit goes purple as Detroit Youth Choir performs at America's Got Talent finale

DETROIT — Tuesday’s the day the Detroit Youth Choir could go all the way and win $1 million on the season finale of America’s Got Talent.

And to show support, the Spirit of Detroit is dressed in purple, the Detroit Youth Choir’s color, as they go for the gold tonight.

America’s Got Talent starts at 8 p.m. on NBC. Though the performances are tonight, the winner will be announced Wednesday on a two-hour results show.

If the Detroit Youth Choir wins, it would be the first victory on AGT for a choir.

In June, the choir was sent straight to the finals after Terry Crews hit the golden buzzer. Their performance of "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, under the leadership of Director Anthony White, got the Flint native emotional.
