Suspect in River Rouge double murder named person of interest in overnight Detroit murder

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man who was featured as one of Detroit's Most Wanted as a suspect in a double murder in River Rouge is also a person of interest in an overnight homicide in Detroit, U.S. Marshals say.

According to U.S. Marshals, Kenyel Brown is the person of interest in a shooting at a t-shirt shop on Detroit's east side Thursday night. Police say a 41-year-old man was found inside the location suffering a fatal gunshot wound to the body.

They believe he is driving a black mini van with Texas license plate NXL 7787 last seen on the vehicle. The tip line is 313-234-5656. There is a $10,000 reward.

It's believed that Brown has now allegedly killed four people, and the reward has been raised to $10,000.

Two weeks ago, we featured Brown as one of Detroit's Most Wanted in connection to a double homicide in River Rouge. Brown is wanted for the deaths of Dorian Patterson and Kimberly Green on Jan. 30. Another victim, a 44-year-old man, was shot and was last listed in critical condition at a local hospital and expected to survive.

The incident happened on Beechwood Street in River Rouge.

Brown is charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, one count of firearms possession by a felon, and six counts of felony firearm.

Police say Brown has a lengthy criminal history.
